After reading your success story in your magazine, Paul, the phrase'from little acorns, mighty oaks grow'!

your shop is beautifully 'set' out, a crafters paradise!!

your staff are a credit to you for politeness and efficiency on the phones, and keeping the factory areas spotlessly clean.

the only thing that surprised me is not having CC logo t.shirts for the shop people! But having said that when you get good service it dosn't matter what they're wearing.

Thank you Paul for taking your time to show the photos.

Actually the shop is sometimes a bit of a disappointment to some customers as they expect to find all of our products on display and ready for them to pick, unfortunately that would be impossible to do as we would need a shop the size of the whole factory.

Our shop is more like Argos than Hobbycraft, ask for what you want and we will get it!

Thanks,

Paul. ThumpUp

you say it's not as big as Hobbycraft Paul, but what you have to remember is Hobbycraft sells everything to do with crafting.

The papercrafting section of Hobbycraft especially ours in Hull, (and it is a superstore)cannot compete in comparison to what you sell.

And believe it or not I had just said to Dave (hubby) that the Hobbycraft papercrafting section in our Hull store, would fit in your lobby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoyed the factory tour very much and I agree with everyone's comments about friendly staff etc. I was not expecting such a large factory/warehouse. So lovely to see the staff as well.

My bargain corner order arrived this week and I was thinking how my box was packed on one of those tables. My cat enjoyed the white non-cheeses wotsits again.

Welcome to the forum Shelley, we'll have a vote to see if we can get you pink t-shirts!

I have a couple of questions Paul.

Do you manufacture your own cardstock or is it bought in?

Peeloffs. is the writing/pictures set out like a printing press, them stamped through the foil?

Do you get many customers in your shop or is it mostly online?

And when your staff show us their samples of cards they have made, do they make them in their own time or works time!,do they get the stock for free? and if they do, can I join inRofl Rofl Rofl

Thanks everyone for your nice comments, I am pleased you liked the tour. BigGrin

I did take all the photos with a wide angle lens which tends to make everthing look a whole lot bigger than it really is, especially the perception of depth!! BigGrin

Mornie - we have juggled the shop layout around over the years but essentially it has the same sort of contents just much more of our own products.

Kathleen - Ooops, sorry I wasn't too clear, rather than size I was trying to compare our style of selling and suggesting that it was more like Argos than Hobbycraft. That is you have to ask for what you want rather than pick it up and put it in your basket. But I do agree with you Hobbycrafts papercrafting sections have shrunk beyond recognition this year.

Annie your shirt colour ideas - Blink Blink Blink Big Surprise Rofl - they would probably keep Shelley happy but then I believe her nickname is 'Pinky'.

Thanks,

Paul. ThumpUp

Kathleen you posted your questions at the same time I was posting my previous post and I didn't notice, sorry. Blushing

All the card from which we make our card blanks is bought in. The popular colours are made especially for us by a paper mill in the UK, which is what a lot of the pallets that you can see in the pictures are. Most of the other card originates from mills that are overseas.

I can't give away to much info on the technique used to make peel-offs, but let's say your guess is almost correct!! Smile

The shop gets very few customers - but unless you know us you wouldn't realise we had a shop as we are not in a high street location and the shop is upstairs.

Probably around only 2% of the business is through our shop, the rest is online or telephone.

The sample cards are made during work time and yes they do get the stock for free as it is for work use. Smile

Thanks,

Paul. ThumpUp
