Morning all from a cool and very blustery east coast.

Well first night back in our bed and a rubbish night, woken with headache, think its going to be one of those days!

Got one jigsaw done yesterday and another about halfway so will do that today before having to start back at work tomorrow. The one i finished had a piece missing, so that gone in the bin, it drives me mad when i vet jigsaws with pieces missing so i wont annoy anyone else by passing it on anywhere.

Chrissy got home at about 4am our time and is back at work at 1pm (our time) today, she had a great time and is already thinking about her next trip, just a shame its so expensive. She absolutely loved their blanket and burst into tears, apparently thats only the 2nd gift thats ever made her do that so i feel quite honoured that she felt that way and it meant we got huge hugs too.

Anyway, hope you are all ok, have a good day folks.

Afternoon Jacqui and anyone else who pops in.

Dry and cloudy here at the moment. Thankfully not feeling as cold today.

Just pottering around today. Was hoping for a play day but not to be, Joe had a terrible night, the nightmares are back, so very little sleep all round. Awful seeing him like that. So just sorting out my christmas stuff instead today and keeping an eye on him.

Jacqui - sorry you had a bad sleep too, hope you get a more settled better one tonight. Was the jigsaw a new one hun? Just wondering as you could have contacted the manufacturer. I've done that before with a photo of missing piece and they have either sent replacement bit or total replacement.

Wishing you all a good afternoon.

I hate missing pieces too and had one new one from Sandringham with a piece missing and no makers address on the box to write too. Not a cheap one either so none too pleased.
So glad Chrissy liked the blanket after all your hard work.
Having a very lazy day today.
Naomi and Ella went back west today and Anna is going with Anna as far as Leicester tomorrow. I suspect to be sure she is up to completing the journey and to tote her luggage as she changes trains. Ann is a wonderful mother and has raised three young women any mother would be proud of. So needless to say this Grandma is proud of all four! And John is a good son and dad to Annalise too.
So sorry you all had such bad nights and Joe is still getting nightmares. I guess the USA takes better care of its veterans as Dean didn't suffer that way after Korea, and the PTSD effect after Honolulu was that he never swam again. Or maybe the one forestalled the other by being worse for him anyway. I am no psychiatrist and every case and experience is different.
May start knitting tonight. Just about to eat a very late lunch!

The jigsaw was a secondhand one Alison so probably onky a few pence to a pound or so hence why it went in the bin; if it had been a new one i would definitely have looked into getting something done about it. Margaret did the box not have a makers name on yours, like Falcon, House of Puzzles or the like?

Have decided to make another blanket, this time to fit a single bed. Dillon said he would be pinching his mums to snuggle up in, so i thought i would make one based on the temperatures for the first year of his life 26/12/2005 to 25/12/2006, being for a teenage boy i will probably only do rows not the prettier hexagons. At least being a historical temerature blanket i know the temperatures in advance so can buy wool more accurately.

No, there is no maker's name. I suspect someone makes them specifically for the Sandringham shop. No phone number and can only make contact when thevQueen is not in residence. I have two others to do so will do them first now I can see with both eyes again.

I suspect you are right there then Margaret, probably made specifically by agreement with the Queen, what a shame, as you say make the others and see how they go, then maybe a visit at some point to ask about.
