Good morning everyone. A cloudy start here, but way less frost than yesterday, so that's good.

Well the plumber came out late yesterday afternoon and fixed the leak. Yay! Bad news, we now have ANOTHER leak on one of the front joints!! Mad Plus, we still cannot get heat to the radiator in the hall! Mad So Joe has got to try and help me today to sort out what is going on with the radiators and I am hoping the plumber will come out later today and fix the next leak without causing another one. I am this close to going over the edge with all these problems, not had a break in weeks now. Sad

So my day is going to be sorting out problems - again.

Judith - any news on getting the chimney issue sorted?

Berniece - did your Doctor call back to sort out your tablets?

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Alison and all who follow.

Alsion hang in there hun, it will get sorted sooner or later, i know its not easy for you and Joe though. Maybe suggest the plumber stays until after he has given the full pipe system a thorough check once he has fixed the current leak? I trust the landlord id paying for this work!

Berniece and Judith i too have been wondering about your tablets and chimney, fingers crossed you both got sorted.

I have a card to finish today and another to do, so must get a shift on.
Have a good day folks.

Hi Jacqui. I'm doing my best to hang in there, just getting so fed up of problem after problem.

Joe's said he will insist the plumber stays for a while to make sure no more leaks and yes, the landlord is paying for all this. We're in the middle of turning radiators off and back on to try and sort out the issues. What a mess.

Awaiting delivery of the new tumble dryer, due between 12 and 4, so fingers crossed that goes okay.

Hope you get your cards done hun, have fun. Smile

Good morning everyone. We had a lot of rain last night but it is still very cold.
Alison I hope your plumber manages to sort it all out for you and that your tumble dryer turns up as expected. Keep your chin up. Jacqui, I hope you get your cards finished. Berniece, has your doctor sorted out your tablets yet.
I still can't get hold of the builder who did the chimney. He is so popular that he is always booked up. We had to wait 4 months last time. I am hoping to get lots of inserts done today. I would be interested to know how others do there inserts. I always struggle with mine. Enjoy your day everyone.

Love, Judith.x

Hi Judith. Hope you get all your inserts done today, but sorry to hear it's such a pain getting the chimney sorted, hope you can get hold of him very soon.

For my inserts, Joe measured all my card blanks and then made me up some templates in word. I then just paste in some greetings and print off, then cut to size with guillotine. Not sure if this helps or not.

I was feeling very sleepy when I started the last post and fell asleep before finishing it. Now the six o'clock news is on and the afternoon lost! Time to get supper now and load the washing brought downstairs this morning! Ear test went well and I get new hearing aids in two weeks. Still have not found soap or hearing aid that went missing on Wednesday or the knitting needle I lost yesterday. All mysteries.
I must get on the computer tonight to make some posters and send out rotas. Tomorrow phone Sky to get costs reduced.
How to go out in the cold and not come in exhausted? I have aged twenty years in the past ten months as far as coping with cold air is concerned. Winter is beautiful, as my father used to say, on picture post cards. Not when I have to go outdoors in cold air. Could some housework and crafting actually get done? Roll on 2019, with new hearing aids, cataract removed and new glasses, and - dare I hope - the injured leg finally healed.
Yesterday was nothing like as cold as today and gardener got quite a lot done. I have a few outdoor jobs to do too, but very few time slots to do them in even if weather permits. Prune apple tree and roses, repot indoor cactus and pot two cuttings, sow broad beans, rig fleece cover for blueberry in patio pot, weed herb bed and front edge of rose bed. ,,and there is less than a week of November uleft. I need a pattern to knit Annalise a cardigan - size 4 years now. And I need a big dose of motivation to get off my backside and do the lot.

A jar of vitamins with iron just might help too. But you have to go shopping to get them. Shopping is not my favourite chore. I have never figured out why folk from here take bus trips to a city nearly twice as far away as Norwich just to go shopping there and think it a treat day out. If I was going out with a friend the meal out, sightseeing or a country walk would be the treat, with any shopping a boring add on to be avoided if possible. Good for retailers that lots of folk have the opposite view!
