Good morning everyone and what a cold chilly morning we have over here in the west. Brrrrr!!! It's dry and cloudy but with a stiff cold breeze blowing.

I am off into town in just under an hour for my eye test. Been a while since I had them done and now know it's time for some new glasses. Joe is getting his done as well. Thankfully he got a decent sleep, though he is still sore, but okay enough to drive the short distance in to town and then he will rest up once we're back home.

Margaret - I was happy to hear that your Doctor think it's okay for you to drive, but I would still urge caution as an insurer can think differently, so take care hun.

Hope everyone else is keeping well. Stay warm.

Good morning Alison and all who follow.

Hope the trip to town goes ok Alison and you both get your eyes sorted, its a job we have to do in the new year as overdue a visit but when i phoned the other day they dont make appointments more than 3 - 4 weeks in advance.

Finished the stitching on mother's card last night, was ready to give up at one stage but hey ho its done now, so today i need to find card and put it all together ready for posting tomorrow.

Dont think i will be doing much else today, winds blowing real cold here too and i cant get warm, could just stay snuggled up in warm bed but dogs wont let me!!

Anyway have a good day all.

Afternoon Jacqui and Berniece.

Back from lunch and totally broke now! Two pairs of glasses for me - need one pair for distance stuff like the TV and another pair for close up things - reading, computer and crafting and a pair of glasses for Joe for doing his close up hobby building. Should be able to collect all of them together in about a week or so.

Joe in a lot of pain now and is going sick this week so he can take the strongest painkillers when he needs without having to keep himself clear-headed for work. Poor man is in so much pain, it's breaking my heart to see it, so not fair him having to suffer!

Jacqui - so happy to hear you got on okay with the card in the end, that's good. Very surprised about your opticians hun, we went in last Wednesday and were offered appts for the following day if we wanted. Anyway, hope you get your eyes sorted soon.

Berniece - hope you are keeping yourself nice and warm hun. It's very cold here too. Birdies are going manic on our feeders.

Anyway, have a good afternoon everyone and keep warm.

Alison x

Pleased to hear you got to the optician and managed to sort new glasses Alison, i wear varifocals as like to be able to look up and down when crafting and see what dogs are doing or watch tv etc.
Our optician probably could have fitted us in sooner but we dont want appointments before january as just cant afford xmas, going out with Chrissy etc and glasses on top but their diary only goes 3 - 4 weeks ahead so i have to wait until just before xmas or just into the new year before making an appointment.
Almost finished mums card, just a few gems to stick on and an insert to put in it now.

Good afternoon all. It's bitterly cold here too. Alison, pleased to hear that you managed to get your glasses sorted out. I hope Joe will feel better tomorrow. I had to go for my twice yearly blood test this morning and then to the osteopath this afternoon. My neck and shoulders are really tight and very painful. He thinks it might even be something called ? myalga ? I already have arthritis in my neck. After working on the muscles to loosen them up for an hour it feels much better. He also said that looking down all the time when crafting isn't good for me. Well I'm certainly not giving it up now. The cat is pestering me for her food and OH will be getting hungry soon, so I better go down and get started on some tea. Hope everyone is well.
Wrap up and keep warm folks.

Love, Judith.x

Brrrr... it turned wet, cold and miserable this afternoon. I sent apologies for the meeting just starting. I did not think I would be wise to turn out again tonight. Shall make an important phone call and then watch TV. I shall need to call a PO 5 miles away tomorrow to see if they can handle international returns. If they can't I'll have to take a postage paid return ten miles to one that can. Watton, population 7,000+, has been without a post office since July when the landlord refused to renew the PO's lease and moved one of hisown businesses into it! The old PO was well established when we moved here in 1972 and shows on much older pictures of the town. Several local people have said what about the old Lloyds bank building, since they closed that branch in October, but the parking there might be a factor for the PO. It would be nip and tuck to get one of the bigger PO vans in and no back exit from the building to the parking area either. The old site was ideal for PO and its customers.
I now have it in writing from the hospital that I can drive to the assessment appointment if I wish (I don't wish) as they will not be using drops that day. But they have said to expect to be there two hours. I do not want to drive 20 miles west at 4pm at this time of year if the sun is shining. The friend taking me is tall so her visor works for her. Mine could do with another three inches to work well for me!
My stock has gone down. Posted one of the 2 thank you cards today.
Sorry to hear Joe is suffering after just a short journey.
Get out those wintercwoolies, scarves and hats folks. Sounds as though we will surely need them this year.
Noticed yesterday my neighbour's holly hedge is all but devoid of berries already. It was a picture in October.
Enjoy your evenings everyone.
