Evening everyone.

As mentioned earlier I have been struggling now for a couple of weeks with a card I have been asked to make. The only way I could find was to use a CUP (Crafts U Print) image, I purchased this and printed and put to one side for a few days, came back to it only to find the ink rubs/scratches straight off it. I had used semiglossy photo paper as I wanted a bright finish. I have tried again on several different paper but all to no avail. If I print on normal paper I found it gives a very dull image and not good enough for a card. Our Tracey, TEE247 very kindly sent me some paper she used to use and I tried this and thought I had cracked it only to find the following day that this too rubs off! It seems to be the black ink, as other colours havnt rubbed off the same.
The printer I have used is a Canon pixma mg7550.

I have printed CUP images before but while we were on the boat and using a smaller, cheaper printer, I have not got that printer now but I have got a different one which is an hp which was on the boat before we sold it, I shall have to try that one.

However has anyone ever had the same sort of issues or know how I can avoid it, as the image has a black line round the outside of the design as well as lots of other lines on the picture? Thanks everyone

Hi,
The only advice I can offer is:
Make sure you are using genuine Canon ink in the printer not one of the cheaper 3rd party inks.
Make sure you are using the correct print driver settings for the type of paper you are using.
My Canon Pixma Pro has no problems with rubbing off unless the paper is unsuitable for inkjet printing.
Sorry but that's all I can suggest, good luck.

Thanks Paul.
Using genuine ink and changed the paper settings, in fact I have tried several as there was more than one photo paper setting. The paper used was hp photo paper mainly, although I have had it a while so not sure about inkjet compatiblity. It's really frustrating though as I just think I have got the base card cutting size and go to stick the base image down and half the black edging has gone!
Will keep trying.
